The PJR Dresden was founded after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990 in the tradition of round tables by politically engaged pupils and students of various political orientations. Originally the club functioned as a direct democratic governing body of local political youth associations in Dresden.

Since 1995, the PJR Dresden is a registered association of politically interested young people of different political orientations on a voluntary basis. Their goal is a wide range of socio-political education.

Since 1999, we are a recognized independent provider of youth welfare services with special expertise in the field of extracurricular youth work.

Since the year 2000, an one-week seminar has taken place once a year in Kaliningrad and in Dresden, a youth exchange between German and Russian youth, which was initiated by Andreas Wendler.

Since 2003 we have been cooperating with the Saxon Youth Foundation and every year we receive a volunteer for a FSJP – Voluntary Social Year politics.

Since 2015 we have a partnership with the “German Youth” in Lviv in Ukraine.

In 2016, we also had a participant of the European Voluntary Service (EVS) in our ranks for the fourth time with Sviatoslav from Ukraine. We are both hosting and sending organization, interested parties are welcome to contact us!
