Voluntary social year / Politics in Saxony

In addition to the well-known FSJ in kindergartens, old people’s homes or other social facilities, young people between the ages of 16 and 26 have the opportunity to do a voluntary year in the political field. Through the FSJ / P politics can be experienced close and the space to do something instead of just complaining is being given. Both insight into processes, active work with young people and the promotion of tolerance and respect are achieved through this program.

Employment places for FSJ/P

The over 30 employment centers are scattered all over Saxony and deal in many ways with the political events. Depending on your interests, you have the opportunity to work in, for example, memorial sites, associations, state ministries or municipalities. In addition, there will be 25 exciting educational days throughout the year, including a trip to the Belgian capital, the city of Brussels, with all FSJs. Felicitas Koch, the Program Manager of the Saxon Youth Foundation, will accompany the application and will be available as contact person alongside the mentors at the employment offices.

Frame dates for FSJ/P

Beginning on the first of September, the FSJ / P usually lasts 12 months. A repeated participation in this program is not permitted.Monthly volunteers receive, among other things, € 300 pocket money, insurance cover and reductions for admissions or public transport ticket.
