Our new project “Poli-Tour” leads children and youth groups (10 – 18 years) to create their own multimedia tours through their district / community. Their own audio-visual media products (audio, photo, video) are created and integrated to illustrate the tours. In this way, the children and adolescents should be introduced to social issues in their local environment and encouraged to discuss and reflect. Young adults between the ages of 16 and 26 should be involved as carers.  

Through the usage of tablets a medium known to the participants from their free time is applied for educational content, which increases the motivation. The preparation of the tours and appropriate media content ensures the participation and self-efficacy of the participants. 

The project can be carried out both at schools (eg within the framework of all-day offers) and in youth centers. Poli-Tour is active throughout Saxony.

Poli-Tour is co-financed by means of taxation on the basis of the budget adopted by the members of the Saxon state parliament (the program “Cosmopolitan Saxony”).
